It’s a Barney Adventure!

So, first, and definitely NOT most importantly: enjoy these signs from one of the RV parks we stayed at in North Carolina.

No, you turn around!! No, you! 😉

Second, and still not most importantly: we took some fun family pictures on the spur of the moment last week.

Third, and definitely most importantly: surprise, peeps! We’re in the great state of Colorado! Let me tell you something, Colorado is gorgeous. And, strangely enough, feels like home to both Josh and I. Apparently we’re “westerners,” not southerners or easterners. We’ve already been hiking….loving the mountains.

And here’s the story. The company Josh was working for was never wholeheartedly on board with this whole traveling thing. We pushed them and made it work. We made it work for six months. Unfortunately, they had had enough and Josh had had enough with the company. Josh put in his two weeks’ notice a couple weeks ago and then we started scrambling trying to figure out how to stay on the road and still feed ourselves.

This pursuit has brought us to Colorado (for various and somewhat complicated reasons). We would still very much like to travel, but a paycheck trumps that a little bit, so here we are. Josh has job offers and is still interviewing this week, so we feel like a decision will be made within the next week or so. We’re crossing our fingers for a position that will still allow us to travel, but we’re also considering stationary jobs here in Colorado. We’re rolling with it and are excited for whatever the new adventure is. The kids basically don’t believe a word that comes out of our mouths about future plans anymore anyway, so, you know, whatever. Sometimes Josh and I think we should just settle down, live in one place for the rest of our lives, and be like normal people and then we think, “Let’s buy a boat and sail around the world! No, wait, let’s build one of those tiny houses in Colorado! Let’s just live on love and keep traveling in the RV, who needs a job!”  So, yeah, whoever put us in charge of other humans was apparently smoking something at the time. Maybe we’ll start smoking something. We are in Colorado now, you know?

(I’m kidding, Mom.)

Until next time!

Colorado!! Nice! I have no doubt that your family will adapt to a few roots in Colorado if that’s what happens. I’m a Westerner too, lol. Love your family pictures in front of the wood shed. Do you guys set up a tripod for those?

We are really loving Colorado already, Melissa. It’s awesome. Jaten really wants to go to college here, so she’s pretty excited. Yeah, I have doubt that we’ll figure it out.

The family pictures were fun and it was a great setting. We do set up a tripod. We’ve been doing our own family pictures for many years with a tripod and a timer, so we’re well practiced. :-)
